1. FC Heidenheim must cope with the departure of a key player. Midfielder Niklas Dorsch joins Toronto FC in the MLS. The 28-year-old midfielder and former vice-captain requested the transfer himself, as the club states in a statement. The agreement between FCH and Toronto was reached during the training camp in Natz-Schabs, South Tyrol. In a total of 133 official games, Dorsch scored five goals and provided twelve assists for Heidenheim. Head coach Frank Schmidt regrets the departure. "Of course, it's sad that 'Dorschi' leaves us, because he was an important performer and team leader", comments Schmidt on the transfer on the club's website. 1. FC Heidenheim must prepare for the new season without Dorsch. The club currently stands 18th in the Bundesliga with 19 points. The last games ended with the results WDDLL. Heidenheim is 57 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich. The club hopes that the new season will be better and that the players will prepare for the challenges.
