Sensation in the DFB-Pokal
SSV Jeddeloh II defeated 1. FC Heidenheim 5-2 at the Oldenburger Marschweg Stadium. Yannik Wagner scored the first goal in the 12th minute, followed by Kamer Krasniqi equalising in the 14th minute. A own goal by Jan Schöppner in the 27th minute and a dream goal by Haris Hyseni in the 29th minute left Jeddeloh already 4-1 ahead before halftime. In the second half, Heidenheim missed a self‑created 11‑meter penalty when Budu Zivziwadze scored a goal. Hyseni increased the lead with a second goal in the 70th minute to 4-1, Tim Janßen sealed the defeat in the 72nd minute with a 5-2 score, and Mikkel Kaufmann hit in the 89th minute to confirm the result.
Tactical Weaknesses
The 52‑year‑old coach Frank Schmidt was suspended due to a yellow‑red card from the previous DFB‑Pokal season and was replaced by assistant coach Bernhard Raab. Heidenheim had already played three league matches this season and conceded 12 goals. Captain Patrick Mainka criticised the lack of defensive structure and described the loss as "highly embarrassing". The team led in the 12th minute but quickly lost control.
Coaching Perspectives
For Jeddeloh the win was a major success. Goalkeeper Moritz Onken described the humiliation as "unbelievable" and said it would be a "long night". Coach Kristian Arambasic, 49, reached the second round of the DFB‑Pokal for the fifth time and had previously had a 1:27 goal record. Both coaches were in the media spotlight while Heidenheim faced a difficult situation without its long‑time manager.
