Heidenheim eye goalkeeper change after departures
Heidenheim are set for a goalkeeper change after Diant Ramaj returned to Borussia Dortmund and Kevin Müller completed his move to Schalke 04. The Bundesliga side is now looking for an experienced replacement, and Thomas Dähne from TSV 1860 München is reportedly a target.
Why Dähne could be the answer
Frank Feller has established himself as the new number one after five Bundesliga appearances. But behind him, Heidenheim lacks an experienced goalkeeper. Currently, only Paul Tschernuth and Felix Mark are available, neither with significant professional experience. Dähne brings nine Bundesliga and 51 2. Bundesliga appearances to the table and could challenge Feller while providing backup.
The background behind the potential transfer
Dähne last played for TSV 1860 München, who were forcibly relegated to the Regionalliga. His contract until 2028 became void, allowing Heidenheim to sign him for free. The club already tested Kai Eisele in a friendly against FC Lugano. Dähne would be a perfect fit for the Ostalb side.
What’s next for Heidenheim?
Heidenheim has been cautious on the transfer market, but the goalkeeper position needs addressing. Captain Patrick Mainka and key players like Niklas Dorsch or Marvin Pieringer are expected to stay. With Dähne, the FCH could secure an experienced option while pushing Feller for the starting spot.
